Hello dear friends,

Let me welcome you to my new space on Substack! This is where I will share news, daily musings and soon snippets of my work.

I've perhaps been my usual cheeky self by exporting all my subscribers from MailChimp. I do hope you'll stay with me here which is a much more accessible place to manage.

As I get older, collecting health conditions like a new hobby, the fight continues. As many of you will guess I'm always deep in a hundred projects which currently include the completion of a new novel, The Widow of Rock-A-Nore. This is my Hastings novel, a love letter to my hometown but much more. It is on the dark side but there's always the chance of seeing the sun in a work by Penny Pepper…

I've worked hard on a project involving TV, but more on that as it develops. Continuing my column with Byline Times and there's a new one coming out this week. Do subscribe, it's wholly independent of all the usual dirty suspects/

As always I wish till I am almost exhausted of wishing for further exposure, for a brave publisher to take up my current novel Nancy Jones in the Show of Wonders. But then, like my lovely mummy, we somehow find more resilience and keep going.
